Pamplin School of Business Writing Handbook
Shepard Freshmen Resource Center
The Shepard Freshen Resource Center is the place for first-year students to come for support, counsel, and assistance of all sorts. The Center helps with everything from academic counseling to adjusting to college life. The Center also provides resources for parents.
Career Services
The Office of Career Services provides a wide variety of services and workshops to help students make a good impression with employers. Business students are encouraged to visit the Office of Career Services early in their college career. Resume writing, internship listings, job fairs, company research, and networking are just a small sample of the opportunities available to our students and alumni.
Center for Entrepreneurship
The Center for Entrepreneurship is an award-winning, interdisciplinary organization that helps students develop entrepreneurial skills. Students engage in classroom activity; mentor with business professionals; and travel domestically and abroad to gain a global perspective on their own entrepreneurial ideas.
Office for Students with Disabilities
The University of Portland is committed to the full access and inclusion of all qualified students in its programs. The Office for Students with Disabilities works closely with all departments on campus to make to make the University a more accessible place for everyone.
Clark Memorial Library
The Clark Memorial Library houses 360,000 books, 1,600 periodical subscriptions, 6,000 journal titles, and over 100 indexes and full-text databases. Their membership in the Portals and Summit consortia offers students borrowing privileges at all member institutions. Students and faculty can access the library's catalog and electronic resources from on or off campus.
The Center offers peer tutoring and assistance in writing across the curriculum for all disciplines. Business students work with a Business Writing Assistant in short (15-30 minute) one-on-one sessions. Writing Assistants work closely with the faculty to better advise students in the program.
