The University of Portland's Executive Certificate in Financial Planning Program is registered with Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. (CFP Board). As a CFP Board-Registered Program, our courses satisfy CFP Board’s education requirement, allowing an individual to sit for the CFP® Certification Examination upon successful completion of our program.

Attending an Information Session is an excellent opportunity to meet an instructor, learn about the program and ask any questions you have regarding the program or working as a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER ™ certificant.

| Program Structure |
The Executive Certificate in Financial Planning Program is a sequential six-module certificate program which meets on Friday evenings and on Saturdays, every other weekend. Students can expect to complete the program in nine months. The program is designed to be taken in its entirety--it is not possible to register for single modules or to take the modules out-of-sequence.
Two programs start each year. The next programs will begin August 2009 and January 2010.

The University of Portland's Executive Certificate in Financial Planning Program is designed for professionals in the brokerage, insurance, accounting, banking, and related industries, or those who wish to become professionals in these fields. Whether you are new to the financial services industry or a seasoned financial services professional, this program is designed to be beneficial to you. Our instructors present the material in a manner that is clear, concise and understandable. The program focuses on the technical aspects, practical application, ethics and professionalism of financial planning. The topics covered by this program are:

- Retirement and Employee Benefits Planning

| Tuition |
Tuition for the six-course curriculum is $4,500, plus books and materials.
Books/materials are estimated to cost $1200-1400.
Options for $4,500 tuition payment: 1. Pay in full by check or money order made payable to the University of Portland (due in full by August 17, 2009).
2. Cash (due in full by August 17, 2009). 3. Monthly payment plan through Tuition Management Systems (TMS). There is a $60 or $47 enrollment fee paid to TMS, depending on the number of months in the payment plan. If payment is set up as monthly deduction from a checking/savings account, there are no additional fees. If payment is set up as a monthly credit card charge, there is a convenience fee paid to TMS of 2-3% of the monthly payment. (student must call TMS each month to provide credit card information. Credit cards that are accepted are Discover, MasterCard and American Express.) 4. One-time credit card payment through Tuition Management Systems. There is a convenience fee of 2-3% ($90-135) paid to TMS. Credit cards that are accepted are Discover, MasterCard and American Express. |
