Pamplin School of Business: Operations Management Association
The Operations Management Association networks with industry leaders to foster relationships, and integrate students of multidisciplinary backgrounds into the field of operations and project management. Our mission is to create opportunities for students to network with industry leaders in various fields of operations including supply chain management, health care operations, information technology management, manufacturing, and project management, and enhance the Operations Technology Management major offered at the University of Portland.
In the past, OMA has organized plant tours of local companies such as Frito Lay and Craft Brewers Alliance, invited guest speakers to the University from companies such as Regence, Boeing, Hewlett Packard and many more. UP OMA also has a strategic relationship with APICS (The Association for Operations Management), a national organization with more than 30,000 members from 15,000 organizations; the global leader and premier source of the body of knowledge in operations management. These activities on campus and in the community enhance our students' knowledge and opportunities in operations management.
